I think arteza set is probably better if you are more experienced. They are tough to blend with so being able to get where you want to quicker color wise on the paper is a plus and experience will give you that. With the prisma color it’s easier to work your way up with layers to the color you want. Which benefits novices (while still being a plus for experienced artists ). It’s less of an issue in anime vs drawing portraits/real life … blending and final color is way more important there I would say an arteza set and a few critical prisma pencils used together is worth it. Great tips. Any way to get rid of the lumpy texture? I tried the colorless blender but it made it worse.

not me looking at my xpress it blending card proudly haha. i actually used printing paper a couple of times, only because i printed out some of my drawings to colour and try different ways of colouring, and it wasn't terrible, it didn't really bleed through lines (at least it wasn't terribly noticable), and it was from the cheapest shop. but i assume it takes a lot more of your ink than using paper like the xpress it blending card so definitely wouldn't recommend copy paper to be used regularly with alcohol markers.

The reasons a tip break are: The pencil is of poor quality. The sharpener has dulled blades out of much usage.The pencil has a very soft core. It can be any of these reasons or all of them. KUM makes the best sharpeners and Faber Castell the best pencils. Use those,and you will reduce the chances of breakage,literally to 0%.

I never use mechanical sharpeners on my Prismacolors ever. That's part why your leads keep breaking. The other part is that you are sharpening them too much, they have a very soft lead the tends to work better with a blunt, bullet shaped tip instead. For small details, the Verithin line has the exact same colors, but with a harder lead that is made to hold a sharper tip.

Also at least they're open stock and I slowly just get a handful of them and build my set up. I just got 8 colors I didn't have yesterday. It's more expensive long term but we do what we can.

My ass still hurts to this day... for "refilling" my markers with my dad's aftershave back then in my childhood. But hey, they smelled nice! 🤣☠👻

You can buy a new color refill 'bottle' and fill it in an old marker of another color if it's empty. So you can try out some colors and don't have to buy every single marker.

You can put it in the tip of the marker if you want to mix it for a one time use.^^

I've bought a set of prismacolor pencils. Which I thought would bre great but they don't lay down. Nice on my crawford and black sketching books . Do they have to have certain paper. They just look like lots of bits missed.ta
